The HK-S'pore Race, a Take from InvestHK Chief Mike Rowse

Organised by the NUS Business School Alumni Association (NUSBSA), the first of the Bizad inaugural lecture series was launched on August 25, with Chief of InvestHK, Mr Mike Rowse, speaking on “Post-1997 Hong Kong – from Pearl of the Orient to the Pearl River Delta Basin: Hong Kong’s response to the rising Dragon and the impact on the Singapore company”.

Mr Rowse spoke on Hong Kong’s growth, vis-à-vis mainland cities like Beijing and Shanghai, and about the Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) which has provided enhanced access for Hong Kong products, service providers and professionals to the Mainland. The hour-long lecture wrapped up in an engaging Q&A session, which saw Mr Rowse tackling fiery questions about India’s competition with China.

The lecture was spearheaded by Mr Benny Lee, Vice-President of NUSBSA, who also facilitated the session.
